Who knew..

Here's something I've learned: planning a big trip is hard. The sheer volume of information that can be accessed is incredibly overwhelming, and my scatterbrain self is not helping. Deciding where to go, how to go and what to do is proving to be extra frustrating.

The 'extra' part probably stems from the fact that I want to do pretty much everything. Now, this wouldn't be a problem if I had unlimited money (if anyone wants to fund my trip, or even part of it, let me know... for serious) as well as the unlimited time I do in fact have. My biggest problem is that I can already feel myself trying to accomplish every single thing that interests me, which is an unsurmountable number of things, in this one trip. I keep wagging my finger at my brain, giving it the stink eye, and even yelling at it but to no avail. Every time I see a new volunteer opportunity or place to hike, my brain says "You must do this now or it will never happen and your life will be incomplete". Shut up stupid brain, you're the worst.

That being said, it is wonderful that I have so many varied interests, and the desire to learn every new skill I can. I think my best bet is to make a list of every thing I want to do, and every place I want to see (and include in the list how much they cost) and slowly but surely narrow it down. Hopefully it'll become manageable, or at least travel sized so I can know what I want to do if I happen to end up in that country.

Despite already having an incredibly ambitious list, I want to know if there are any places you my lovely reader think I must not miss. Though do keep in mind that I tend to like to do things that are off the beaten track, and I'm not a huge fan of museums, though I can sometimes be convinced.

So my plea to you, and to myself, is to find incredible not to be missed places and experiences that are also affordable. The gauntlet has been thrown down, do you accept the challenge?
